PROJECT LEAD

The ideal candidate will be interested in all aspects of running a practice and exposure to all phases in the development and construction of work. ​Candidates should be highly motivated individuals who are able to self-direct their own work and who prefer working within a small and growing firm environment.  The selected candidate will work closely with the Principal. 

 

Candidates will be expected to self-produce their own work with design direction and input from the Principal and/or other team members. The ideal candidate shall have the experience needed to provide the critical documentation backbone for a project from its inception to completion and will be responsible to self-produce a set of accurate technical construction documents, preform construction management services, coordinate with consultants and contractors, review submittals, and participate in design and business development activities.

 

Every member of the team contributes to the business and projects in multiple ways and will follow a project through the entire process from beginning to end, there are no hand offs of responsibility.

To be considered, the preferred candidate should have demonstrated abilities to:

 

  • Develop design concepts through construction documents.

  • Develop, coordinate, and complete a full set of construction documents with minimal direction from principal.

  • Understands how buildings are constructed to create accurate and descriptive technical documents.

  • Applies sound and diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices.

  • Perform construction observation/management services.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Resourcefulness and efficiency.

  • Responsible for technical design aspects of a project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendations of design and technical solutions.

  • Strong interpersonal communication, organization and leadership skills.

 

Requirements:
 

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience working in the USA.

  • Licensure preferred, but not required.

  • Experience working with discerning clients and demanding projects.

  • Responsible for all technical aspects of a project. Organize and generate a set of working drawings, including construction details and systems and fulfill requirements and deliverables of each project phase.

  • Knowledge of Building Codes, standards, and building construction.

  • Advanced knowledge in Autodesk Bim360, Revit and AutoCAD. Competency in advance commands of editing requirements, drawings set up, management and use of all files and resolution of any related issues.

  • Write meeting minutes, RFI responses, and professional correspondence.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, exhibit sound and accurate judgment, support and explain reasoning for decisions, makes decisions in a timely manner.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite programs and 3D programs like SketchUp are a plus.

  • Work well with others.

Interior Design FF&E Procurement Coordinator

 

The ideal candidate shall have the experience needed to provide the critical procurement backbone for a project. Candidates should be highly motivated individuals who are able to self-direct their own work with input from the principal and other senior staff and who prefer working within a small and growing firm environment. The selected candidate will work directly with the Principal, Interior Designer, and FF&E Consultant.

 

To be considered, the preferred candidate should have demonstrated abilities:
 

  • Responsible for specifying, customizing, generating purchase orders, ordering, tracking, purchasing accounting inspecting and managing the warehousing and final delivery of FF&E packages.

  • Work with client/team and multiple furniture vendors to establish milestones and deadlines for successful FFE procurement.

  • Communicate with vendors to source products including materials, furniture, lighting, art, accessories, and fabrics necessary for design presentations and procurement.

  • Schedule and attend FFE coordination meetings with client/team to confirm all furniture and finish choices for FFE orders.

  • Conduct bid solicitations and reviews with vendors.

  • Coordination with team to organize and compile all FFE plans and schedules to interface with multiple furniture vendors.

  • Review furniture installation plans and shop drawings for content and accuracy and ensure that they are fully coordinated with all pertinent consultant drawings.

  • Review samples, strike-offs, etc. for compliance with specifications and overall design intent.

  • Track and update schedules and quickly identify and resolve issues quickly.

  • Oversee coordination of project/site cleaning, FFE delivery, installation/staging, troubleshooting and closeout, including punch lists and resolution. Ability to coordinate with general contractor on OFCI items and direct installation crew.

  • Focus on service delivery while monitoring the status of assigned project tasks against the project schedule and participate on quality reviews of projects.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

 

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in luxury interior design working with discerning clients and demanding projects.

  • Professional Interior Design degree from an accredited institution preferred, but not required.

  • A love of searching for new materials, furnishings, and design concepts.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting and preparing FF&E estimates.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of product resources, materials, interior detailing and furniture fabrication methodologies required for high-end spaces.

  • Work examples that demonstrate versatility and sophistication in aesthetic sensibility.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to work well with colleagues in a team and self-directed environment to keep multiple projects on schedule and in budget.

  • Resourcefulness and efficiency demonstrate strong interpersonal communication, organization and leadership skills.

  • Possess a high level of critical thinking, visual, and verbal communication skills.

  • Minimum understanding of building and life-safety codes and standards related to interior furnishings and materials.

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of FF&E specification minimum standards, informational requirements for specification and computer specification program requirements. 

  • Software experience with, MS Word and MS Excel. While not required, experience with Autodesk AutoCAD and/or Revit, Adobe InDesign Suite, SPEXX/Expedite are a plus.
