2022 NAIOP Spotlight Awards recognizes distinguished commercial real estate entities in our local development community. This program is designed to highlight NAIOP members' impact to the industry and serves to increase public awareness of the outstanding commitment made by these representatives. The Judges were impressed with the design details brought forth both on time and on budget. They appreciated the seamless use of color to pull people through the space, the attention to detail and commented on the team’s ability to source very high-end finishes during COVID.

The AIA Nevada Design Awards Program recognizes projects of exceptional architectural distinction that have been commissioned. Excellence in Design embraces the ecological, economic, and social circumstances of a project as well as the integration of the highest environmental and sustainable design standards with quality design execution.

Presented with a small single-story 1,200 sf office space within an existing building, the DJC LTD team found that hidden above an existing acoustical ceiling tile was a volume of space that could be activated. This extra volume allowed the design team to expand the interior ceiling height (doubling the existing condition) while increasing the square footage of the office. The result is a dramatic transformation of space punctuated by luxurious but sustainable finishes, and tailored detailing. The jurors said..."This proposed interior renovation is wonderfully conceived and detailed, with a cohesive material and color palette."

The jurors said..."To say that the project really blends in well with the landscape only communicates part of it's charms.  The materiality, scale, spaces in-between, appropriately sized volumes, use of light, air and landscape all lend a hand to this convincing proposal for a new base camp that feels timeless."

The jurors appreciated the simplicity of forms and austerity of the material palette. "There was a quiet tranquil beauty in the courtyard spaces, that opened up to the sky. Not every house wants to be exposed and open, and this introverted house carefully opens up to the exterior where the grand view warrants it."
